BIOGRAPHY

Writer / Actor

Rosaleen Cox is an ex mountain ranger turned award winning Irish/Australian actor and writer. She is currently developing original television projects with Roughcut TV, Fremantle and Lingo Pictures and has been commissioned by Soho Theatre, Meta, the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) and most recently Francesca Moody Productions (FleabagBaby Reindeer) for her play which she starred in at the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe (and later Soho Theatre).

Her theatre work includes sold-out runs of dark comedy one-woman and ensemble shows including Mercurial (Riverside Studios, London – Winner: Best Show), Free Drugs & Killer Whales (Smock Alley, Dublin), Mad Woman (Trades Hall, Melbourne) and Stiff Drink (London and Los Angeles). On screen, Rosaleen’s credits include Class of ’07 (Amazon Prime/NBCUniversal) and The Tourist (Netflix/BBC One).

Rosaleen is a member of the Soho Theatre Studio Writers’ Lab and Element Pictures Storyhouse Screenwriting Lab, received the Director’s Choice Award for her short at the St Kilda Film Festival, six AACTA LMAO nominations (winning Best Original Content) and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s One to Watch. She was also a finalist for the Australians in Film’s Untapped program and shortlisted for The Painkiller Prize and Oxford Playhouse Playmaker.
